Rivalry Week Rules
There are 2 Rivalry Weeks (weeks 5 & 12). There are no byes these weeks so everyone will be at full strength.
WINNING A RIVALRY
To win your Rivalry means that you get the best of your Rival over BOTH WEEKS.
- WINNING SCENARIOS
- If you win Head to Head both weeks, you obviously have won your rivalry
- If you and your Rival split the weeks (each win one Head to Head) then the Rivalry tie-breaking criteria are as follows (in order).
- 1) Total Points Scored
- 2) Highest Point Total for a single game in the 2 games of the Rivalry
- Example:
- Week 5: Team A beats Team B 120-100
- Week 12: Team B beats Team A 150- 130
- Each team won 1 H2H Game and their total scores were the same but Team B scored the most points in a single game (150) so Team B would win the Rivalry.
- Example:
- 3) Overall Winning Percentage through Week 12 (see Regular Season Standings)
- 4) Most 10-0 Weeks
- 5) Most 9-1 Weeks
- 6) Most 8-2 Weeks
- 7) Most 7-3 Weeks
- 8) Most 6-4 Weeks
- 9) Fastest 40 time
- 10) Coin Flip
Rewards for Winning Your Rivalry
- The winner gets $20.00.
*This year that is funded by a generous donor since Rivalry Week is a new concept that no one knew about going into the season. Next year perhaps the loser should pay and the amount can be negotiated prior to the season.* - The Winner gets to select a "punishment" for the loser to perform on camera for the rest of the league.
- The Punishment CANNOT:
- Be dangerous to him or anyone else (including animals)
- Be illegal
- Be something that will get them cancelled, fired, divorced, or broken up with if it got out
- Be something the winner would outright refuse to do themselves
- Require them to spend money (presumably that will be covered next year in them paying the winner) other than perhaps small amounts for supplies they may not have ($5 max).
- The Commish has the right/authority to judge on whether the punishment breaks any of the rules above. The Commish can choose to make that judgement himself or bring it to a vote of the league
- Punishments need to be approved by the Commish PRIOR TO WEEK 5 so that everyone knows what is at risk beyond the humility of losing to your Rival.
- **The Commish does not get to rule on his own punishment. If it is in question, it will be determined by the league.**
- Once a punishment has been completed, it cannot be used again for all of eternity on the same person. If you win your rivalry and thereby do not have to perform your punishment, then the punishment is still fair game for the future.
